Bosoord, Hoofdweg 109, 7371 GE Loenen (Gld)

Begeleiding: Pascal Auclair

Datum: Thursday November 8 – Sunday 11, 2018 (4 days/ 3 nights)
Plaats: Bosoord, Hoofdweg 109, 7371 GE Loenen (Gld)
Begeleiding: Pascal Auclair

The retreat starts on Thursday at 16.00h (Bosoord centre is open from 14.00h) and finishes on Sunday after lunchtime. The retreat takes place in the hospitable ‘Bosoord’ at Loenen (). The main language will be English. The programme involves formal meditation, meditation instructions, talks and discussions. In addition, there will be working meditation for about an hour each day.

This retreat will be ‘a first ever’ LGBTQ retreat within the Netherlands and is organized by the Dutch Insight Meditation Foundation, in cooperation with Sangha Metta. The retreat will be held in Noble Silence and is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced meditators.

We’ll create a space of ease and support for LGBTQ people to cultivate mindfulness, kindness and wisdom through insight meditation. Sharing silence and meditative space with community allows us to make greater peace with ourselves and our lives, one moment at a time. While listening to the teachings of wisdom and compassion and mindfully sitting, walking, eating and resting, liberating insights arise, and clarity and freedom is gained. We can learn to find an ever-deepening sense of well-being, touching joy and fostering the heart’s release. We practice in this way both for our own benefit and for the benefit of others. Open to beginning and experienced meditators who self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer or intersex.

Most Vipassana meditation retreats are organised on the basis of Dana (Generosity). Since the time of the Buddha, the transmission of his teachings and the meditation instructions are considered a deed of generosity. The costs of the retreat consist of basic lodging fees and meals; the teachers receive only reimbursement for travel and accommodation expenses. At the end of the retreat, the participants have the opportunity to practice generosity; they are invited to give Dana (donation) to the teacher.

After application, you will receive more details approximately two weeks prior to the retreat. For more information about the retreat you can contact Marcel Herwegh: or +31 (0)6 28247412.
